Privacy

This site collects one thing: your email address, and only if you choose to give it to me. There is no analytics, no advertising, and nothing is sold or rented to anyone.

The newsletter

If you subscribe, your email address is stored in Kit, the service I use to send email. It is tagged with where you signed up (the home page or the blog) so I can tell what people found useful. That is the whole record: an address and a tag.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You can also ask me to delete your address entirely, which removes it from Kit rather than just stopping the sending.

Booking a call

The booking calendar on Work with me is provided by TidyCal, and it is the one third-party script this site loads. The calendar itself runs in a frame served by TidyCal, so anything you enter to book a call (your name, your address, whatever you write in the notes) goes to them and is held by them, under their privacy policy, not this one. If you would rather not use it, email me instead and we will find a time that way.

The blog

Posts are published to my newsletter first and pulled onto this site from Kit when you open a page. Reading the blog records nothing about you. Newsletters usually carry a tracking pixel that reports when a message is opened; those are stripped out before a post is rendered here, so reading a post on the web does not report anything back.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare Pages, so requests pass through Cloudflare's network the way they would for any site hosted there. When you submit the signup form, your IP address is held briefly in memory to limit how often the form can be submitted. It is not written to disk, not logged, and not connected to your email address. It disappears within a minute.

What this site does not do

No analytics or visitor tracking of any kind. No advertising, and no advertising trackers. This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser; the booking calendar is the one exception, and what it stores belongs to TidyCal rather than to me. Fonts are served from this site rather than from a font provider, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you did. Nothing is sold, rented or shared, beyond the two services named above doing the jobs they are named for.

Getting in touch

To unsubscribe, to ask what I hold about you, or to have it deleted, email hello@tomprotects.com. A deletion request is done as soon as I see it, and I will confirm when it is.
